Sue Codee is an artist based in Albany who has over 25 years of experience in the arts industry, ranging from public art projects, arts consultation, community arts, and exhibition curation. She has also worked nationally and internationally as a community arts worker and artist-in-residence.
For the last five years Sue's focus has been on “This Papercut Life”, a creative business that has increasingly grown in size and success.
Through "This Papercut Life" Sue designs and creates contemporary papercuts and woodcuts, jewellery, art objects, designs for public spaces and distinctive logos. As well as hand cutting large paper artworks, she uses laser cutting to cut and etch designs in paper, perspex, wood and occasionally metal. The themes of her work are generally community, nature, and family - using a playful and figurative storytelling style.
Sue has received numerous awards including The Perth Royal Agricultural Society Best Rural Artist Award in 2013 & 2015. Sue's work can be found in a number of public and private collections and Army Art is delighted to welcome Sue to the 2016 exhibition.
