Army Art pleased to announce the 2016 Artist-in-Residence

The 2016 artist-in-residence is very different to those who have gone before him.

Ian Sargeant, a long-time exhibitor with Army Art and one half of Oldshed Productions, will be screening for the first time, a documentary which gives the viewer a full conceptual understanding of the creation of his & his collaborator, Ben Jackson's images. Sarge will also be on hand before and after the documentary screening to talk about and answer any questions about his work and the work of Oldshed Productions.

Ian Sargeant was working as an Illustrative Advertising Photographer and Gaffer (Film and TV Lighting Technician) and Ben Jackson was a Graphic Designer and Art Director within the advertising industry in Perth when they teamed up to form OLDSHED PRODUCTIONS.

Together they travel the city and countryside in search of barn finds to create atmospheric images of classic vehicles and collectables. The images relate the story of the objects and their owners through visual metaphors in still images which have been described as "a movie in a single frame".

So come along and learn how these gentlemen create beautiful, nostalgic photographs that make you question - "Is it real?".
