Rock Stars and Freshmen

Although, from a community point of view the show is an annual event, for the committee it is a year round exercise as we actively hunt out new artists to join the Army Art family. Our charter to raise funds for past and present defence personnel and families is of course the core of our mission, however the ability to provide a professional platform for the art community of Western Australia is essential to the success of this mission.

We are deeply grateful to the 'rockstars' of Western Australian art for continuing to bring their magnificent work to share with the Army Art audience, some at deeply sympathetic prices. We are also aware of the courage it takes for newer artists to take their work to the general public and thank them for sharing their work with us.

As part of our countdown series to this years show, we want to share some of the gems that will be available.

Leon Pericles: 'Jaylene in Paradise', 29cm x 69cm - hand coloured collagraph

Susan Sheppard: 'Unfolding - Buds, Blossoms, Nuts' 91cm x 61cm, oil on canvas

Peter Barker: 'Along the Road', 50cm x 50cm oil on canvas

Malcolm Lindsey: 'Sea Lanes', 101cm x 101cm acrylic on canvas

Nicola Milan: 'Lady Orelia', 21cm x 30cm pastels and copic marker

Kate Ryan: 'Bunbury Twilight' 40cm x 20cm oil on canvass

Brad Kay: 'Zebra Fight' 101cm x 101cm - acrylic on canvas

Karen Louise: 'Spring Tide' 50cm x 60cm alcohol ink

None of this would work without you, our wonderful patrons. Your continued support of the Show, your excitement at finding that magical work of art and meeting the creators of these gems is what sustains the circle of Army Art Show life.
