The Art Show – Army Art, is the longest running fundraising art exhibition in Western Australia. All proceeds support our Defence Art Skills Programs.
This year the show was by far our largest show ever, with hundreds of applicants and thousands of people visiting the show over the two day event.
The Defence Art Skills Program is open to all serving Australian Defence Force personnel, free of charge.
Set over 8 weeks, and delivered on base, these programs are designed for all skill levels. Offering a range of creative disciplines, the foundation is to equip serving personnel with an art practice that they can take into their everyday lives, and with them through their career.
All art materials are supplied with the intent that they are fully, and easily, portable. In an ideal world, they have them at hand on deployment, on exercise, while traveling.
Creative practice is valued for calming the mind and boosting focus. While it supports decision-making and problem-solving, its main benefit is enhancing overall well-being
Our objective is to support, to develop skills to aid their longterm wellbeing. To build resilience and shared experience through creative practice. To build connections across the veteran and art community
A collection of pieces celebrated for their originality, storytelling, and immersive use of light.
We extend our deepest appreciation to the sponsors and partners who help make The Art Show: Army Art possible each year.
