Artist Statement
I am a Western Australian artist captivated by the interplay of light and shadow in the environment. My work is about capturing the often-fleeting beauty and atmosphere of the natural world, inviting viewers to experience the quiet drama and subtle moods that I find so compelling. Experienced in a variety of media, I am currently exploring watercolour as my medium of choice. Its transparency and spontaneity allow me to experiment with layering, washes, and expressive brushwork. My themes often revolve around rural scenes, coastal vistas, and the ever-changing Western Australian sky. Through my work, I am exploring how light transforms ordinary moments into something extraordinary. I aim to challenge myself technically and emotionally—pushing the boundaries of watercolour to convey atmosphere, movement, and a sense of place. Ultimately, I hope to encourage a renewed appreciation for the beauty and complexity of the landscapes that surround us.
