Artist Statement

Peter is Perth based and began painting after retiring from a 40 year engineering career in the Oil & Gas industry. After exploring acrylics, pastels, charcoal and oil he now works almost exclusively in watercolours. The advantages being transparency, colour luminosity and tonal values through layers of washes. Subject matter includes portraits, landscapes, still life and abstracts. He enjoys transferring the subject matter into a unique and realistic work of art capturing its complexities of form, mood, colour and place that resonate with him and the viewer.
