Artist Statement

Lyn's work draws on the concept that art has its own reality and does not intend to represent something else. It can be created in a spontaneous or unplanned way, embracing a contemporary, minimalist style, focusing predominantly on shape and form. As Lyn's canvas begins to take form, it is unclear what it will become - it will evolve naturally. Lyn becomes totally absorbed in the painting process, using mark making to commence this journey. Her preferred medium is acrylic, using a restricted pallet of cool colours, often incorporating a 'pop' of warmth.
