Artist Statement

Based in her home studio, Suzanne’s portraiture and figurative work is marked by intimacy and a quiet intensity. She is particularly interested in the psychological presence of her sitters and the subtle shifts in expression that give a painting its sense of character. Working within contemporary painterly realism, her practice balances realism with looser, more abstract elements, bringing a contemporary sensibility to traditional figurative painting
