Artist Statement

Jill is a self-taught emerging Artist based in Perth, Western Australia, painting in oils and using a limited palette. Although Jill has considered herself a creative person her whole life, she did not embrace Art as a serious career choice until 2023 when she started her oil painting journey. Jill feels the decision to take up painting found her at just the right time in her life, a salve for her mental and physical health. Jill finds painting meditative and its powers to heal quite incredible. Jill’s paintings are inspired by things that touch her emotions in some way and are bursting with colour and life. “I find that vibrant colour helps me deal with life challenges, I hope my paintings bring serenity and joy.” Jill Clarke, Artist
