Artist Statement

This painting explores the fleeting transition between day and night, when light transforms the familiar landscape. Layers of colour, texture and expressive mark-making allow observation and memory to merge, while reflections dissolve the boundary between land and water. It is less about a particular place than the feeling of being held, briefly, within the changing light.
